This professional development videos were developed through the Solomon Islands Education Sector Support Program (ESSP) - a partnership between the Governments of Solomon Islands, Australia and New Zealand.

Video 1: Child Protection - this video provides essential guidance for teachers on identifying and responding to signs of child abuse and neglect in the classroom.

 

Video 2: Attendance Strategies - this video explores practical approaches for improving student attendance and addressing barriers that prevent children from coming to school regularly.

 

Video 3: Children with Special Needs - this video promotes inclusive education practices that ensure all children, regardless of their abilities, have access to quality education as outlined in the Education Act 2023. It demonstrates how teachers can adapt their teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each child and create welcoming, accessible learning environments.

 

Video 4: Year 3 Mathematics - this video showcases effective teaching strategies for Year 3 mathematics, demonstrating how to make mathematical concepts engaging and accessible for young learners. Teachers will observe practical classroom techniques that help students build strong foundational skills in mathematics through interactive and hands-on learning approaches.

 

Video 5: Year 4 Mathematics - this video focuses on Year 4 mathematics instruction, particularly emphasizing the teaching of fractions through visual and practical methods.
