Percentage of Qualified Teachers by Sector

The percentage of teachers by level of education taught (primary, junior secondary, senior secondary) who have at least the minimum qualification required for teaching their subjects at the relevant level.

Qualified teachers are those who have a subject specific qualification from a recognized institution but not a teaching qualification. Typically, this includes people with a degree and appointed to teach in the area of their degree e.g. Bachelor of Science appointment to teach science in a secondary school.
